Parenting Without Second-Guessing
THE 4-DAY PARENTING CHALLENGE
Learn how to figure out what to do when you're not sure what your child needs from you.
When your child cries, refuses, or pushes back, it can be hard to know whether to hold your decision, explain more, let it go, or just give in.
Over four days, you'll begin learning how to look beyond your child's immediate reaction, understand what's really happening, and know what to consider before deciding what to do—so you can make thoughtful parenting decisions and lead your child in a way that nourishes your connection.

When parenting starts to feel harder than it should
You’re trying to get everyone dressed and out the door, but your child doesn’t want to put on their shoes.
You turn off their screen and they melt down.
It’s time for dinner, bath, or bed—and suddenly something that should be simple has turned into a long, drawn-out struggle.
You're exhausted by the crying, negotiating, resistance, and constant pushback.
And it's not just that one difficult moment.
It can start to feel like everything requires so much effort.
Starting the day. Getting dressed. Brushing teeth. Sitting down for a meal. Leaving the house. Ending something fun. Winding down the day.
You love your child deeply and want to enjoy your family.
But some days you find yourself thinking:
“Why does everything have to be such a struggle?”
And then there’s the second-guessing
The difficulty isn’t only your child’s resistance.
While you’re trying to get everyone dressed, leave the house, sit down for dinner, get into the bath or finally get to bed, you’re also running an internal debate:
Should I hold this?
Am I being too strict?
Does she really need this?
Should I give another chance?
Am I damaging our connection?
Every reaction from your child can send you back into questioning the decision you just made.
And it doesn’t help that there is so much conflicting parenting advice around you.
Your parents may tell you one thing. A parenting book or someone on social media tells you another. Your partner may see the situation completely differently—and both of you may be trying not to repeat parts of how you were raised.
So even when you’re trying incredibly hard to do what’s best for your child, you can still find yourself wondering:
“How am I supposed to know what the right thing to do is?”
The problem isn't that you don't care enough or haven't learned enough.
What's missing is a reliable way to make sense of what you're seeing—so you know what to consider before deciding what to do.
Because you don't have to choose between leading your child and staying connected to them.
The way you lead can actually nourish the connection you're trying so hard to build.
Save My SpotMaybe what you're missing isn't more parenting advice
When everyone is telling you something different, more advice about what you should do can just give you more to second-guess.
Because what you need isn’t another answer for one more parenting situation.
You need a reliable way to understand what you’re seeing, know what to consider, and make a thoughtful decision about what to do next.
A framework you can return to when your child cries, resists, pushes back—or when something simply isn’t working.
So instead of searching for the “right” answer every time parenting gets hard, you can begin learning how to figure out what to do.
So many parents come to the Challenge feeling this way
They care deeply about doing what's right for their child—but they're exhausted from trying to figure out what that is in every difficult moment.
I'm so exhausted I just want to give in.
What worked with my other kids is not working with this one.
Over four days, something begins to shift.
They start seeing difficult moments differently—understanding where they have influence, what their child may need, and what they can do next.
What began to change
I understand what's happening differently.
We're both finally looking at the situation through the same lens.
The morning was hard, but I knew what to do.
Imagine what that could look like in your home
You tell your child it’s time to leave the playground. They protest.
But instead of their reaction immediately sending you back into questioning your decision, you know what to look at.
You can consider what your child may be experiencing, what they need from you, and what this moment requires from you as the parent.
And then you decide.
Maybe there's a reason to adjust. Or maybe you know it's time to go.
If you decide it's time to leave, you can hold that decision and help your child through their disappointment—without believing their upset means you've done something wrong.
They don't have to like your decision for you to stay connected while you lead them through it.
This is what the 4-Day Parenting Challenge is designed to help you begin learning.
Not how to make your child agree with every decision.
Not how to find a perfect parenting answer for every situation.
But how to know what to look at when parenting gets hard—so you can understand what's happening, make a thoughtful decision, and lead your child through what comes next.
The parenting moments won’t disappear. But the way you move through them can change.
When you don’t have a clear way to know what to do:
A difficult moment can quickly become overwhelming. You question yourself, feel frustrated and unsure, and sometimes just need the crying or struggle to stop.
You may give in simply to end the moment—then feel defeated afterward, knowing you didn’t parent that moment the way you wanted to.
Over time, it’s mentally exhausting. You’re constantly making decisions that are met with resistance, without knowing how to make these everyday moments feel easier.
When you have a clear way to figure out what to do:
A difficult moment can still be difficult—but you’re not scrambling for the answer while your child is falling apart.
You know what to look at, what to consider, and how to make a thoughtful decision about what this moment needs from you.
Your child may still resist or be upset, but you can stay grounded in your decision—or recognize when it makes sense to adjust.
Instead of just trying to make the moment end, you can lead your way through it and move on without the same frustration, defeat, and mental exhaustion.
That's what you'll begin building during these four days.
Join the ChallengeWhat you'll begin learning over four days
Day 1 — See where you have influence
Learn to step back from a difficult interaction and recognize what belongs to you, what belongs to your child, and where you actually have influence.
Day 2— Bring Intention into everyday moments
Learn how everyday routines like mornings, meals, transitions, and bedtime can become opportunities for connection—rather than something you’re just trying to get through.
Day 3 — Rethink what connection really needs
Discover what helps your child feel seen and connected—and why connection doesn’t always mean more time, more attention, or saying yes to what your child wants.
Day 4 — Look beneath behavior
Learn to look beyond crying, resistance, or demands and begin asking what may be underneath the behavior—so your child’s immediate reaction isn’t the only thing guiding what you do next.
Meet Dorit Shoshani
Your Guide Through the Challenge
Hi, I’m Dorit Shoshani.
For more than 20 years, I’ve been helping parents of babies, toddlers, and young children navigate the moments that can make family life feel especially hard.
And one thing I’ve seen again and again is that most parents don’t need more advice. They need a reliable way to make sense of what’s happening.
Because your child’s behavior is only one part of the picture.
When we begin looking at what your child may need, your role as the parent, and what is happening between you, it becomes much easier to know where to look when something isn’t working.
That’s what I want to begin teaching you in this Challenge.
Not what to do in every parenting situation—but how to become increasingly able to figure out what to do for yourself.
So when you find yourself unsure of what to do, you have something reliable to guide you rather than second-guessing, conflicting advice, or your child's immediate reaction.
IS THIS CHALLENGE RIGHT FOR YOU?
This Challenge is for you if you’re a thoughtful parent who cares deeply about how you raise your child—and sometimes that’s exactly what makes parenting decisions feel so hard.
- ✔ You’ve read the books, followed parenting accounts, or tried different approaches—but still find yourself wondering what applies to your child.
- ✔ You want to hold limits when they’re needed, but when your child becomes upset, you sometimes question whether you’re being too strict or harming your connection.
- ✔ You don’t want to give in just to stop the crying—but you also don’t want to become the parent who says “because I said so.”
- ✔ You and your partner may not always see parenting the same way, and you wish you had something more reliable to come back to than debating whose approach is right.
- ✔ You’re willing to look at your own role in difficult interactions—not because everything is your fault, but because you want to understand where you have influence.
- ✔ Most importantly, you’re not looking for someone to give you a script for every parenting situation. You want to learn how to think through those situations for yourself.
If that sounds like you, you’re exactly who I created this Challenge for.
